PLAN YOUR VISIT
What are your opening times?
The Main Bar and Balcony Bar is open on Friday and Saturday from 12 PM.
We will advertise opening times for each specific event on the ticket page, most of our live music events have doors open at 7 pm and end no later than 11 pm. However, we will open the bar for most shows from 6 PM or earlier. Club Nights usually start at 11 pm and finish between 3 am and 4 am. All timings are subject to change, so check before you travel.
When should I arrive for my event?
Performance times and support acts can change, sometimes even on the day of the show. Give yourself plenty of time to get in. If your ticket only shows one time, it’s usually the time the doors open.
Can you recommend local hotels?
We are partnered with a fantastic nearby hotel - Hotel Indigo which also located right next to Coventry Train Station. For more info on booking please visit HERE.
GETTING HERE / PARKING
Uber
Simply download and open the Uber app, type 'hmv Empire Coventry’ into the ‘Where to?’ section and your ride will be with you in minutes. No cash is needed. Uber has wheelchair-accessible and mobility options in the app.
By Bus Routes
We are situated right in the centre of town 2 mins walk from the Lady Godiva statue, all buses that go to the city centre will be fine.
By Train
We are only a 5-minute walk from Coventry train station or a 3-minute Uber ride.
Parking and by Car
The venue is directly next to the Barracks multi-story car park.
Disabled parking
There are a number of shopmobility parking spaces within the Barracks car park and a number of road spaces around Hertford Street. Barracks car park level 1a has an accessible bridge to Hertford Street immediately adjacent to the venue entrance.
By Bike
As we are in a pedestrian area there are many bike parks and places to lock up your bike right outside our front doors
VENUE AMENITIES & FACILITIES
We are a multi-use venue with the flexibility to accommodate events across our various stages.
We have 3 bars and a balcony that overlooks the city centre, we also have a cloakroom to leave your coats and bags.
Do you have a balcony with seating in the main room for the show?
Our balcony is not located in the main room with a view of the stage. Our balcony is used as a smoking area. Please see our venue layout map HERE.
Is there any seating?
We have plenty of seating available in our bar & balcony bar areas, on a first come first serve basis.
The majority of our events/gigs are sold on a standing basis, though if you need seating then please let the door staff know on arrival and they’ll show you seating available on a first come first basis also.
Is there a smoking area?
The smoking area is on our balcony only.
Do you have a cloakroom?
The cloakroom is open for our gig and club nights.
How much does the cloakroom cost?
Coats/Bags are £3. Umbrellas/Shoes are £2. We do not allow more than one person’s items on a hanger. It is your responsibility to look after your cloakroom tag - if you lose your tag then you will have to wait until the end of the event to pick up your item(s).
Lost Property
For lost property enquiries, please contact iain@hmvempire.com with a full description of your item(s). You can collect lost property on a Friday / Saturday from 12PM, or on evenings when we are open for events - please check our website for opening hours. We keep lost property for a period of 4 weeks - after that time it will be donated to charity.
Do you use special effects?
Please note that many of our gigs & club nights will be subject to strobe & haze effects. Some events may also be subject to laser, cold sparks and confetti SFX.
For events in our main room, hearing protection is highly recommended. Free Earplugs are available at our bars.
ACCESSIBILITY
We are an accessible venue, with a wheelchair lift, accessible toilet and various seated areas. More information regarding accessibility enquiries for events can be found HERE.

ARE YOU A CHILD-FRIENDLY VENUE?
Children are generally allowed in the venue on a Friday & Saturday from Midday until 7pm when accompanied by an appropriate adult 18+, unless we have an event with an Age Restriction in the venue during those times. Please check the website for event listings.
We have baby-changing facilities onsite.
FOOD & DRINK
Does the bar take cash/cards?
We have multiple bars onsite that take cash & card payments.
Do you offer food & drink on-site?
Hmv Empire has multiple bars selling alcohol, soft drinks and snacks.
Hmv Empire operates a Challenge 25 policy which requires anyone who is over 18 but looks under 25 to carry an acceptable physical ID if they wish to buy alcohol.
Can I bring in food and drink?
No Liquids can be brought into the venue except for medical conditions. Food can be brought into the main bar & balcony bar.

SECURITY & ENTRY POLICY
How to report a problem on the night.
Whatever the issue on the night, please talk to a member of staff. We want you to have a great time at the event, so come and see us. We may be able to sort something. It’s hard for us to do that after the event.
Can I bring a camera or a video camera?
Professional cameras or Go Pros are not allowed in the venue. For Press Pass Enquiries please contact iansilver@hmvempire.com
ID policy / Challenge 25
If you’re fortunate enough to look younger than 25, be ready to provide appropriate physical identification (a card bearing the PASS hologram, a photographic driving license or a passport) at any time to verify your age. Please don’t be offended if you’re identification is requested. We operate a Challenge 25 policy.
How can you help?
Stay alert and aware of your surroundings. Be observant and report anything that doesn’t feel right, unattended bags or packages to venue staff or security personnel straight away.
Age Restriction
Age restrictions vary from show to show, so it’s always best to check for each event in advance. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to check the event’s age restriction before purchasing tickets.
The majority of our shows are 14+, and all customers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult 18+. All our late-night club nights are 18+.
Feel free to contact us if you’re unsure and avoid disappointment also remember to carry proof of age if you need it.
Can I leave the venue through the night?
The venue operates a no readmission policy unless for exceptional circumstances, under the discretion of security personnel.
Is there a dress code?
There’s no dress code for most events, though we politely ask that you dress smartly. Some club nights have their own dress code policy - please check the individual event page for the specific dress code.
What is your bag policy?
Only one bag is allowed per person. All persons and bags will be subject to search on entry. Please consider whether you need to bring a bag. We do not allow large bags into the venue - bags bigger than A4 will need to be left in the cloakroom.
Are there any prohibited items?
No Liquids (except for medical conditions), Glass, Professional Cameras, Selfie Sticks, Illegal Substances/Items, Perfumes/Aerosols, Bags over A4, Laptops/Tablets, Weapons, bladed/sharp items, explosives, horns, whistles, drums, fireworks, flags, laser pens, animals (except service dogs), confetti, glitter bombs, wheeled footwear, helmets, full face masks, Go Pros, and any other item which is our reasonable opinion, may cause danger or disruption to an Event or other visitors (regardless of whether or not such item is illegal or is carried for specific purposes).
Smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes are strictly forbidden inside the venue. Anyone found with illegal substances will be refused entry and/or ejected from the venue. All shows operate on a no-readmission policy unless for exceptional circumstances, under the discretion of security personnel.
TICKET QUERIES
How do I book tickets?
Our official ticket partner is Eventim. All events can be purchased via our venue website hmvempire.com. To sign up for venue news and access to venue presale tickets (available on many shows), please sign up with our website.
Can I buy tickets over the phone?
Tickets can’t be bought over the phone. Please purchase tickets via the venue website.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Tickets can be bought on the door with cash/card payments - though please check the website for ticket availability. Tickets bought at the door will be more expensive than purchasing online.
Is there a box office to buy tickets at the venue?
Tickets can only be purchased from the box office for a show on the night of the show, provided tickets are still available.
Where are my tickets?
Please contact the ticket agent you purchased with, as they will need to advise on any ticket delivery questions.
Can I cancel, exchange or add tickets?
Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel, refund, exchange or add more tickets once an order has been placed.
Before you buy your tickets, please make sure you’ve checked all the event information and are happy with our terms and conditions of sale.
Can I send my ticket to a friend/acquaintance if I can't attend?
You can forward tickets to friends/acquaintances via your ticket provider in their Apps. Please contact your ticket provider for more information.

What happens if I lose my ticket?
Please contact your ticket provider directly with your name and the event you have bought a ticket for.
What happens if my event is cancelled or rescheduled/postponed?
As soon as we’ve heard about a show cancellation or rescheduling from the promoter, your point of purchase will send an email out to all ticket holders who purchased with us with further information. If a show has been postponed, they may advise you to sit tight and hang onto your tickets as they’re often valid for the new date once announced.
If you don’t see an email, please check your spam folder - it may have been mistakenly filtered by your email provider.
Can I get a refund on my ticket if I can't go?
Unfortunately not. Hmv Empire has a policy of no refunds except if the event is cancelled, rescheduled or we deem there to be a significant change to the scope of the event.
HMV LIVE SHOW TICKET QUERIES
The hmv live show is soon and I still haven't received my QR code.
e-Tickets will be issued via the hmvTickets app generally 24 hours before the event. The QR code will activate approximately 1 hour before the event begins, ready to be scanned on entry. There are no printed tickets for hmv live events, and tickets will not be sent by email. For more information please visit here.
I can't access the hmv live app for the hmv live show.
Albums will be sent out via your chosen delivery method, while e-Tickets will be sent to the hmv Tickets app, using the phone number entered below. Click here to download the hmv Tickets app now to save time. Customers who have not registered with the hmvTickets app will be sent an SMS text message with full details of how to download the hmvTickets app and receive their e-tickets.
Why is the hmv live event page showing tickets as ‘unavailable’?
If an hmv live event shows up as ‘not available’ then all tickets are held in other shopping brackets while customers complete their purchase. However, please check back on the event page as some tickets may become available due to customer shopping baskets timing out. Once all hmv live tickets have been sold, then the event page will change from displaying ‘not available’ to ‘sold out’.
Is my CD being delivered to the venue?
When purchasing a ticket & album bundle for the hmv live show at hmv Empire, your CD / Vinyl will be dispatched to the address that you have listed, it will not be dispatched to the hmv Empire venue.

hmv Empire Coventry will only pass on information about you as an individual if we have received prior consent. In exceptional circumstances we may be required to disclose your personal information if you breach the Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions. We may also be required to disclose or access your account if we are required to do so by law or Governmental Bodies.
Keeping your data secure is our top priority, despite this, no data transition via the internet can be completely secure. Due to this we must advise that any data you do submit with hmv Empire Coventry, will be at your own risk.
Your data belongs to you, at your request, you will always be able to see and access your data. If you wish to correct any information that can also be done at your request.
